A family story, fifty years long

It began in the 1970s, when Henry Deptford and his son David started Sovereign on Horse Creek Farm, just outside March. It became one of the first fully licensed western riding schools in the country. David and Sarah Deptford have run it together since 1990, and the mares in the paddocks now carry the fourth generation of Sovereign foals.

The record speaks for itself: more than 300 foals bred, 12 international medals, and three horses holding the AQHA Champion Award, one of the highest honours a Quarter Horse can earn. David has ridden for Great Britain at the FEI World Reining Championships, and the stallion Gunnawantme, imported from Indiana, was AQHA UK Supreme Halter Champion in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

Sit back. Do less.
