The forest, the western way
Burley Villa sits on the southern edge of the New Forest National Park, a family-run, BHS approved riding centre near New Milton with around thirty horses. Its western trails start in the arena, where you settle into the saddle, then head out among the wild New Forest ponies, splash through the stream at Brownhills and drop down into Yew Tree Bottom.
Most riders on these trails have never ridden western before, and that is the point. Western is a relaxed, gentle way to ride, and with the forest opening up around you it is hard to think of a better place to find that out.
Four ways into the forest

Coached by a champion
The western riding is led by Tammy Greaves: European Western Champion, former Team GBR bronze medallist, AQHA Professional Horsewoman and a WES Professional Level 4. Clinics and lessons with her are a rare chance to learn from the very top.
