Becoming an event manager

Three steps to running WES events

Every member who wants to organise events on behalf of WES must first be registered as an event manager.

  1. Read the handbook

Read and understand the Event Manager Handbook.

  2. Prove your learning

Complete the proof of learning document below.

  3. Send it for review

Send your completed proof of learning to Kayreen Jones for review; the document says how. When you pass, you are awarded the designation of event manager for 5 years.

The Event Manager Handbook 2026 is in the rules and policies section. It has been updated to make clear which types of show outside bodies can offer (affiliated and appendix shows), where classes can qualify for the National Show championship classes, and the minimum number of classes a WES show must offer to be approved.
