Rules and policies

The rule book every WES show is run to, and every policy that says how the Society runs, protects its members and cares for its horses. Each one approved by Council, and open to everyone.

This is the official home of every WES governance and operational policy. The WES Policy Framework is the set of policies that sets out how the Society runs, how it protects its members and horses, and how it keeps high standards of governance, safety and integrity. Every policy is version controlled, approved by Council and kept in the WES Dataroom as a read-only PDF; here is the current approved version of each.

Keeping policies current

How a policy stays right

  1. A named owner

Each policy has a named owner, a Council officer, who keeps it up to date.

  2. Reviewed every three years

Every policy is reviewed at least every three years, or sooner if needed.

  3. Approved by Council

A new version is approved by Council before it is published here.

  4. Your suggestions logged

Every proposed change is logged for the next governance review.

Still to come

After final review: Area Representative Guidance, Expectations of WES Professionals, the Gifting and Donations Policy, Financial Controls, Expenses and Subsistence, and Professional Standards and Approval.
