Introduction
This scheme has been created to support structured learning, encourage curiosity, and recognise achievement across all ages and stages within Western equitation. Badges are earned through learning, understanding, and evidence.
Sign up is for a one off fee of £20. This covers access to the scheme, a handbook and regular in person/zoom badge sessions. Badges can be signed off by the youth officer and are available for purchase at £4 per badge.
- There are 40 badges to collect which can be completed in any order but increase in difficulty from purple – green – red. Yellow badges are discipline specific and are available in two levels – standard and advanced.
- For each badge, you will find a clear list of learning tasks in your handbook. As you work through a badge, you should use the handbook to track what you have learned and gather evidence of your progress. Supporting resources, guidance, and printable materials are available below and can be added to your handbook as you wish.
- Evidence can take many forms and may include written work, photographs, videos, worksheets, or confirmation from a WES professional. Badges may be completed at home, with evidence submitted to the WES Youth Officer - WESbadges@gmail.com, during lessons with a WES professional or at WES badge sessions, events, or organised learning opportunities.
I hope you find the Achievement Badge Scheme both rewarding and motivating.
