📕 Biography

My name is Adam Yates, I am a Level 2 WES approved instructor working with riders and horses from local/novice level through to competent combinations. My passion for western riding came during a college placement with Carol Taylor and Adalberto Barberini. Watching Carol and Adalberto work the horses ignited a spark in me and I wanted to learn more.

I went on to work full time for Carol and Adalberto, working with a wide variety of horses from full liveries to stud work and learning how to work and ride polo ponies.

Fast forward a (good) few years and I now have my own yard with a round pen, indoor school and great hacking facilities.

From this base in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, I offer one-to-one or group lessons. I am also willing to travel to give lessons and I frequently host clinics at other yards in the UK. My speciality is focusing on connection and relationship on the ground and into the saddle to create a partnership that is able to maintain a rhythm while remaining balanced and soft.

Whether you and your horse are new to western riding or a seasoned professionals, I can help you gain confidence and prepare you for competition in all WES show classes.
