ℹ️ Biography
It is a privilege to serve as Chairman of the Western Equestrian Society.
I care deeply about this organisation, the people within it, and the future of Western riding in the UK. Like many of our members, my journey with horses has been shaped by the friendships, challenges, and moments that come from being part of this community. Alongside my family, I actively compete and take part in events across the country, which keeps me closely connected to the experience of our members.
Professionally, I have spent over a decade helping individuals and organisations move from inconsistency to clarity and sustainable growth. I bring that same mindset into WES, focusing on building strong foundations, clear structures, and a Society that is set up to thrive long term.
As Chairman, my focus is simple and consistent:
- To promote high standards of Western equitation across the British Isles, in line with the core purpose of the Society
- To support growth in participation, events, and opportunities for riders at every level
- To ensure the Society is well governed, transparent, and consistent in how it operates
- To invest in initiatives that genuinely add value to our members, both in and beyond the arena
Over recent years, I have been closely involved in strengthening how the Society operates, from improving governance and policy frameworks, to expanding education, digital content, and member engagement. This work is ongoing, and it matters, because a well-run Society creates better experiences and more opportunities for everyone involved.
Most importantly, I want WES to be a place where people feel supported, welcomed, and proud to be part of the community. Whether you are new to Western riding or have been involved for many years, there should always be a clear path to get involved, improve, and enjoy the journey.
We are in a strong position, and there is real momentum behind the sport. My role is to help channel that momentum in the right way, so that we continue to grow, while staying true to the values and standards that define Western equitation.
I look forward to building that future together.
