A clearer, more flexible route to becoming a WES Professional

We’re pleased to announce the launch of the fully updated WES Professionals page — the result of extensive work to modernise, clarify, and strengthen how WES supports and approves instructors, trainers, and coaches.

Whether you're looking to book a Professional, apply for approval, or simply understand how it all works — everything is now in one place.

What’s new?

  • A more accessible pathway to becoming a WES Professional, including a new portfolio route for UKCC-accredited applicants
  • A clear explanation of Professional Levels 1–5 to help members understand what each level means in practice
  • All application forms, assessment criteria, and support materials in one place
  • A fully searchable directory of approved WES Professionals

This refresh reflects the Society’s commitment to maintaining high standards while making it easier for talented professionals to join and support the western riding community.

Want to run a clinic?

If you're organising a WES-affiliated clinic, make sure your instructor is a current WES Professional. If you’d like to invite a guest, they can be approved by the WES Education Officer — details on how to do this are included on the page.
