📕 Biography

Hi, my name is Patricia, and I’m Scotland based. You can find me at Lunga Riding Stables.

This is my journey so far; I’ve come to realise it’s worth sharing.

How often have you stood beside your horse and sensed something more… beyond words?

Horses have a way of drawing you in. Quietly, subtly — and before you know it, you’re trying to understand. That’s where my work really begins.

I believe learning should feel good. It should be enjoyable, light-hearted and fun. Never something that leaves you feeling deflated. When people relax, they start to enjoy the process. Things really begin to change — for both horse and rider.

I’ve spent 40+ years in the equine industry, experiencing a wide range of horses, riders, and situations.

I am a UKCC Level 2 accredited coach, and I’ve been English Riding for 40+ years. Western riding for 20+ years.

This has given me a broad, adaptable perspective across many disciplines, including competition to national level.

Alongside that, I also worked in the mental health sector — two separate paths, but ones that naturally began to intertwine over time. Each role deepened my understanding of the other, and that perspective continues to shape how I coach today — not just focusing on the riding, but on the person behind it too.

I place a strong emphasis on my own learning, regularly investing time in my own personal development and training to keep evolving my approach, knowledge and understanding.

Because this isn’t just about riding.

It’s about confidence. Self-belief. Understanding what’s happening underneath the surface — both in the horse and in yourself. I’m passionate about helping riders build strong foundations, not just technically, but mentally and emotionally too.

Horses respond to it all.

I take a holistic approach, and look at the whole picture — horse, rider, mindset, environment. No two combinations are ever the same, so no two sessions are either.

I tailor my sessions to suit the individual.

I am intuitive by nature — reading situations, feeling the energy, and helping to shape it. Helping it flow into something more balanced. That sense of equilibrium between horse and rider is where real progress happens.

Over time, I’ve developed my own techniques to guide both horse and rider towards the path of least resistance. Not through force, but through understanding. Timing, feel and clarity.

I firmly believe the magic is in the spaces in-between — the quiet changes, subtle releases, moments where everything just… clicks.

Somewhere along the way, I found myself working more and more with what people describe as “problem horses.”

I see them differently. To me, they’re horses trying to communicate something that hasn’t been understood yet. That’s where I enjoy working most — unpicking things, finding clarity, and helping both horse and rider move forward with confidence.

My coaching is honest, but always supportive. I’ll tell you what you need to hear, in a way that builds you up, not knocks you down. There’s always a positive to be found, and that’s where we work from.

I believe life is for living — and if you have the opportunity to try something, you should take it. That’s all I ask from riders. A willingness to show up, try, and stay open to the process.

I’m happy to travel anywhere in the UK to support people on their equestrian journey. I welcome all horses — from Shetlands upwards — and all levels of riders.

Above everything else, horse welfare and rider safety will always be paramount.

From there, everything else can grow.

Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about learning to ride better.

It’s about understanding more, feeling, and building something real between horse and rider.

After all, life is a beautiful ride and I’m sure we all agree that every moment spent with a horse makes it richer.

Feel free to contact me if there’s anything else you’d like to know.

The end..

Thanks for your time. This is the shortened version!
