For everyone

Accessibility

The Western Equestrian Society wants everyone to be able to use this website: to find an event, read the rules, join and get in touch, whatever device you use and however you browse.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We are building the site so that every page can be used with a keyboard alone and with a screen reader, can be zoomed to 400% without losing anything, and keeps its text readable against its background.

What we know does not meet it yet

  • Many documents in the library are PDFs carried over from the old website. Some are scans, which a screen reader may not be able to read.
  • Some photographs carried over from the old website do not have a text description yet.
  • Videos and live streams play from YouTube or Facebook, and may not have captions.
  • The site has not yet been checked by an independent accessibility specialist, so there will be problems we have not found.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this website does not work for you, or you need a document in another format, tell us through the contact page. Choose "Website" as the subject, and say which page, what you were trying to do and what happened. The person who looks after the website will get back to you.
